Delete your account or your data

Delete only some of your data

You don't have to delete your whole account to remove things. Each of these deletes the data outright — it is removed from our systems, not just hidden from your profile:

Photos	Profile → Edit profile → tap a photo → Remove
A conversation	Open the match → menu (⋯) → Unmatch. Deletes the chat for both people
Circle connections	Profile → Settings → Your Circle → tap a person → Remove
Spotify data	Profile → Settings → Connected accounts → Disconnect
Contact hashes	Profile → Settings → Data → Clear uploaded contacts. Deletes the hashed numbers from contact sync; people already in your circle stay
Profile details	Profile → Edit profile — clear your bio, job, pronouns or interests and save
Notifications	Profile → bell icon → Clear all

For anything not listed, email support@vouchsocial.in from the phone number or recovery email on your account, telling us what you'd like removed. We'll action it within 30 days, usually much sooner, and confirm by email when it's done. Deleting individual data does not close your account — you stay signed in and keep everything else.

Delete your whole account

From the app

1. Open Vouch and go to the Profile tab.
2. Tap the settings (gear) icon at the top right.
3. Scroll to Delete account.
4. Confirm twice. The second prompt is the point of no return.

If you can't sign in

If you've lost access to your phone number, email support@vouchsocial.in from the recovery email saved on your account, or tell us the phone number and the name on the account so we can check it's really you. We'll confirm within 30 days, usually much sooner.

What a full account deletion removes

Removed immediately and permanently:

Your account	Phone number and login identity, name, date of birth, gender, pronouns, bio, job, city and interests
Your media	All profile photos, vouch photos and voice notes
Your connections	Circle connections and requests, vouches you sent and received, matches, and likes
Your conversations	Chat messages, pinboard notes, date plans and shared song lists
Your activity	Hangouts you hosted or joined, bookings, reservations and tickets
Your contacts	The one-way hashes of your contacts' numbers used to find friends. We never held the numbers themselves
Your devices	Push notification tokens

What is kept, and for how long

Safety reports about you	If someone reported you, that report is kept after your account is gone, along with a one-way hash of your phone number so the report still applies if you sign up again with the same number. This is what stops deletion being used to wipe a record. It does not contain your name, profile or messages. Kept indefinitely.
Payment records	Transaction records for tickets, bookings and Vouch+ are kept as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires. We never held your card or UPI details — those stay with Razorpay and Google Play. Ask them directly to remove payment instruments.
Messages you sent to other people	Your chats are deleted with your matches. If any content of yours has been reported, the reported item may be retained with that report.
Encrypted backups	Deleted data is removed from live systems immediately. Residual copies inside routine encrypted database backups are overwritten as those backups rotate, within 30 days.

A note on your phone number

Vouch signs you in with your phone number and nothing else. Deleting your account releases that number completely — nothing links it to your old profile. If you sign up again later with the same number, you start fresh, with an empty circle and no history.
